   Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a physical location?

Pressure Massage RVA exclusively offers mobile massages. Our massage therapists travel to clients within a 25-mile radius of the downtown Richmond, VA area. This means no unnecessary commute for you!

What should I expect during my first in-home massage therapy visit?

Your massage therapist will arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Please be at your residence, with a physical space designated and preferably on the first floor, readied for the massage therapist to set up.

Allow the therapist at least 5 minutes to set up their table without disruption. During this time, you will be required to complete a standard intake form. Once the table is ready your therapist will spend approximately 5 minutes reviewing your intake form and informing you of what to expect, based on what you’ve submitted. The therapist will begin by asking you general questions to establish what areas you would like worked on, if there are any conditions needing to be addressed, and to determine how massage will properly help you.

What do I need to have?

Our massage therapists will come prepared with everything required to perform the requested service.

We provide sheets, creams, oils, hot towels, hot stones, gua sha tools, bolsters and, of course, the table.

If you would prefer to substitute anything during your massage, or to “use you own” that is 100% doable. If this is the case, please send a text to (804) 412-8444 with your booking information and details of what you would like to substitute.

Do you offer BBL post-op massages?

Yes! Pressure Massage offers Manual Lymphatic Drainage massages for patients who've received cosmetic surgeries including: BBL or Brazilian Butt Lift, Liposuction, Lipo 360, Tummy Tuck, and Mommy Makeover.

Do I have to be completely undressed?

You should undress to the level you are most comfortable.

For a full body massage, most people prefer to get completely undressed. However, if you will be more comfortable during the session if you leave your underwear on, that’s fine.

The therapist will work around the clothes you left on as best as he/she can.

How much pressure does the therapist use?

The pressure used throughout your service is determined by what is requested at the time of booking. If you believe the pressure to be too “light” or “deep”, inform your therapist right away.

Be sure to tell your therapist at the beginning of your session what your preferences may be regarding pressure.

If you’d like the therapist to use less or more pressure, please say so at any time during your massage.

Communication is important for getting the greatest benefit from your session.

What kind of cream or oil will be used during my massage?

Pressure Massage exclusively utilizes TheraPro for every massage service listed on our website.

TheraPro creates a series of versatile massage creams and oils perfect for moisturizing the skin.

This cream does not contain parabens, oils, is not fragmented, and is hypoallergenic.

How often should I get a massage?

Depending on your goals you should determine how frequently you are able to receive massage services. This, of course, looks different for everyone but a standard 1 massage a month may work for some while others may need more regular massage services.

What should I expect after my massage?

After your treatment has finished your therapist will inform you of this, take your time getting up and off the table, it is possible you may feel a bit lightheaded.

The therapist will leave the room to allow you some time to get dressed.

Once returned you therapist will ask you some brief follow up questions regarding the service you've received, please be honest and as transparent as you can.

After discussing your service, the therapist will clean up their supplies, and leave.

Do you accept insurance?

At the moment Pressure Massage is only offering scheduled bookings on a prepayment basis.

Pressure Massage does not currently accept any form of insurance payments.

You may talk or be quiet during the session, whichever you prefer
